What is a message?

Messages are how we measure agent work, not tokens or credits. A message is one action your agent takes. Replying to a customer is one message. Heavier actions, like generating an image or reading a long document, can use more than one message depending on the work involved.

Do you charge by tokens or credits?

No. Messages are our unit for agent activity. There is no token math and no credit packs to manage.

What actions use more than one message?

Accepted Answer

Complex actions can use multiple messages. For example, a single image from our most advanced models can use several messages depending on the detail involved. Long document processing and similarly demanding tasks may also consume more than one message. You won't see a message count before an action runs. Usage is reflected in your dashboard after the action completes.

Where can I see my message usage?

Your dashboard shows message usage throughout your billing cycle. After your agent completes actions, including heavier tasks like image generation or document processing, the messages used are reflected in your usage.

What about SMS, voice, and other add-ons?

Accepted Answer

Messages measure agent work. SMS, voice minutes, web searches, conversation summaries, and phone numbers are billed separately. Each has its own rate on the pricing page. Some plans include a set amount of SMS or voice minutes, and you pay per unit when you go beyond what's included. Premium voices add +$0.15/min on every minute, including minutes within your included allowance.

How are voice minutes billed?

Usage is tracked per minute (rounded up). For AI voice agents, standard voices count against your included allowance, then $0.15/min overage. Premium voices add +$0.15/min on every minute, included or overage. Included minutes cover the standard rate only, not the premium voice cost. Outbound calling from the dashboard is billed separately through Voice Minutes at destination-based rates. See the outbound calling FAQ below.

How much does outbound calling cost?

Outbound calling uses destination-based rates that count toward your Voice Minutes. An estimate is shown in the dialer before you place the call. US and Canada are typically the lowest; international rates vary by country and route. Included Voice Minutes on your plan can be used for outbound calls; overage follows Voice Minute overage rules. The in-app estimate is authoritative. We do not publish a single flat worldwide rate.

What happens if I exceed my plan?

If you use more than your plan includes, overage charges apply at the rates listed on the pricing page. Overages are billed at the end of each billing cycle to the payment method on file.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No credit card required to start. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial. Add payment information only when you're ready to upgrade.
